There is exciting news to share about the next Cancer Companion Program. In the past, Cancer Companions was exclusively a 9-week course for cancer patients in treatment, post treatment and their care givers. It is designed as a Christian support group for patients, survivors and their loved ones to find the connections they need to draw closer to Christ on their cancer journey. In facilitating the last 4 classes, it was discovered that the Cancer Companion Program is truly applicable to many chronic illnesses, such as ALS, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, and Dementia. The topics of the sessions: Faith, Questions, Healing, Prayer, Stress Reduction, Relationships, Communication and Healthy Living certainly could help not only cancer patients but those with chronic illnesses as well.
It is so important to have a support system. The new Chronic Illness Support Group is not just about providing spiritual and emotional support; it’s about empowering individuals with the tools and resources they need to navigate their illness journey with confidence. The next class begins on Monday, September 16 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Living Word. It will be open to cancer patients, and chronically ill patients, their loved ones and caregivers.
