ABOUT THIS PROJECT
This borehole was completed in 2011. The majority of rural northern Ghana is divided into villages and regions. Often times, when working with the local community, you must ask the chief and landlord of the village or region for permission to complete the work that is necessary.
This is the landlord of all of Sakote. We first met him on our initial trip to Ghana in 2010. Whenever we meet with him, it’s usually under a large tree right outside of his family’s huts. It’s always a simple and beautiful meeting rich in traditions. Often times, we are given animals in thanks for what we are doing in Sakote.
