Living Word leadership is cooperating fully with the social distancing recommendations our local governing officials have asked of us. We want to make you aware of several changes that will continue to impact us in the coming weeks.
Worship will continue to be by online access only. Both the traditional service and the contemporary service will be available here by 9:00 am each Sunday morning. The services are also live premiered on our Facebook page on Sundays at 9:00 and 10: 30 am. Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries Zach Davis is providing video youth Sunday School lessons, and we are creating weekly children’s Sunday School lessons for parents to share with their children.
On June 1, Living Word will begin a phased in return. A tentative plan is as follows (and depends upon St. Louis County and CDC guidelines):
June 1 – Staff begins a phased in return to the office.
June 15 – Small Groups and Adult Sunday School classes will be allowed to meet in the building with a limit of 10 per class. Video conference technology will be available to allow groups to meet in the building while members who choose to stay at home are able to join the group online. Designated rooms will be provided which will be large enough to allow the meetings to happen while social distancing is observed.
All ministry leaders should email Cindy Brown at email@example.com to let her know whether your group will be meeting or not during the summer.
July 5 – The building will be opened to the larger groups who have previously used the building. Inside groups will be allowed to return. Outside groups such as the Boy Scouts and AA will also be allowed. We will not yet be open to new outside users.
Online worship will continue until we are able to enter our worship space with a larger group. Late July or early August is the expected time frame.
Our greatest concern is that we don’t place any of our members or guests in harm’s way. We will adhere strictly to recommended safety and health guidelines as we move forward.
If you have questions or ideas, please contact Pastor Dave at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. Let us all remember that the church is more than a building – the church is the body of Christ, wherever we are. We pray that you will take the opportunities to participate in the worship and spiritual development tools that we will continue to provide through these days!
