Music Ensembles

LW Kids Choir is open to all children, Kindergarten – grade 5, and sings periodically throughout the school year at the 10:30 am contemporary service, as well as in the annual Christmas Concert.  LW Kids Choir rehearses on Sunday from 10:00 – 10:30 am, after the morning programming, in Rooms 205/207.  All children are encouraged to be a part of the LW Kids Choir!  Should you have any questions, contact Maggie Olson for more information.

F.B.I. (FAITH BEYOND IMAGINATION)

6TH – 8TH GRADE STUDENTS

  • F.B.I. (Faith Beyond Imagination) is open to all middle school youth, grades 6 – 8, and sings periodically throughout the school year during the 9:00 am traditional worship service.  In addition, the middle school youth choir participates in the annual Christmas Concert and sings at local nursing homes.  F.B.I. rehearses on Sunday from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, followed by LW Youth Group.  All middle school youth are encouraged to be a part of F.B.I.!

GREAT AWAKENING

9TH – 12TH GRADE STUDENTS

  • Great Awakening is open to all high school youth, grades 9 – 12, and sings periodically throughout the school year at the 10:30 am contemporary worship service.  Great Awakening rehearses on Sunday from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, followed by LW Youth Group.  In addition, the high school youth choir participates in the annual Christmas Concert and goes on the road for a weeklong tour each summer.  This year’s tour will encompass a loop of several Midwestern states.  Over the years, Great Awakening has taken their message in song to nearly the entire country!  Additional rehearsals may be scheduled prior to tour.  All high school youth are encouraged to be a part of Great Awakening! 

PRAISE BAND

The Living Word Contemporary Worship Band is an audition group open to all adults and high school youth, and performs weekly throughout the year during the 10:30 contemporary worship service.  Opportunities exist for vocalists and instrumentalists ranging from piano, keyboard, bass guitar, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, drums/percussion, and both melody and harmony vocalists.  All Worship Band members do not necessarily perform weekly, but are scheduled through Planning Center based on availability and the songs to be performed each week.  The Worship Band rehearses on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm.  Sunday morning time commitment is from 9:00-11:45 am on the scheduled weeks. As an auditioned group, members of the Worship Band have a high level of musical competence.

WORSHIP CHOIR

  • The Worship Choir is open to all adults and high school youth, leading worship weekly throughout the school year during the 9:00 am traditional service.  Additionally, the Worship Choir prepares a Lenten Concert, Christmas Cantata, Hymn Concert, as well as music for special worship services.  Choral workshops and opportunities for community service are also offered during the year.  The Worship Choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 7:00 – 8:30 pm.  If you enjoy fellowship and love to sing, the Worship Choir is for you!

JOYFUL NOISE

  • Joyful Noise is an adult women’s ensemble, singing approximately once a month throughout the school year at the 9:00 am traditional worship service.  Rehearsals are twice a month on Wednesday evenings from 6:15 – 6:55 pm, alternating weeks with the Praise Hymn ensemble.  Joyful Noise also participates in the annual Christmas Concert.  All are invited to be a part of this special women’s ensemble!

PRAISE HYMN

  • Praise Hymn is a select, mixed adult ensemble, singing approximately once a month throughout the school year at the 9:00 am traditional worship service.  Rehearsals are twice a month on Wednesday evenings from 6:15 – 6:55 pm, alternating weeks with the Joyful Noise ensemble.  Praise Hymn also participates in the annual Christmas Concert.

MEN OF FAITH

  • Men of Faith is a select adult men’s ensemble, singing approximately once a month throughout the school year at the 9:00 am traditional worship service.  Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings after Worship Choir from 8:30 – 9:30 pm.   Men of Faith also participates in the annual Christmas Concert.

WESLEY RINGERS

  • Wesley Ringers is a handbell choir open to all adults and high school youth.  The handbell choir rings during the 9:00 am traditional worship service approximately once a month throughout the school year, as well as at the annual Christmas Concert.  Rehearsals are on Tuesdays from 6:45 – 8:00 pm.  Prior ringing experience is not required.
